This book(pamphlet) is a piece of junk. It is not a step by step guide, just a promo piece for the iphone and ios. I notice five other reviews, all 5 stars, within a day of each other. I believe they may be friends who purchased the book, just to write a review. I believe this book to be a complete sham.

It must be a joke you call this a book and ask for money. few pages explain about iphone 6. I can't believe some people wrote good reviews about this book ( I call it garbage). Who the hell are they? Are they really read this garbage??? I ordered this rely on their reviews ... I can't trust amazon review anymore especially when there are few reviews. Don't buy this garbage.

There's no such thing as a free lunch

Looking for a kindle book to both increase my knowledge of the game and help my children understand basic strategies I stumbled across "Chess for Beginners" near the top of the Amazon charts. While the "free" price tag and a few artificial 5 star reviews likely pushed it to that position, it shouldn't stay there long. The book can be read in about 20 minutes; but, your time would be better spent simply reading the wikipedia entry for chess.
The book aims to teach the rules of chess in a simple manner and provide basic strategies and tactics to winning. However, the book contains a critical error regarding the rules and very limited instruction in tactics or strategies. For example, in the rules section, the author explains the concept of castling queen-side as similar to king-side but "with the queen and the other rook involved." Thinking maybe I misunderstood the writer, since much of the sentence structure of the book reads as if it's been translated into English via google translate, I read on to see the author reinforce his error by stating that "the player must choose which of the royalties he wants to castle."

As for tactics and strategies the author does offer definitions of ideas such as pins, skewers, and forks. Yet, the following chapter on openings and endings consists of a listing of the most common openings, with no description of any of them and one paragraph of 5 sentences explaining the endgame. If like me you're searching for helpful beginner to intermediate chess instruction in kindle format, you'll need look elsewhere.

Really worth reading.

I remember being hooked on watching Stephen's late show on CBS. I like how his humor. In a way I was intrigued about his life and work so I decided to read this book.

In this book, the author explained how Stephen Colbert was discovered, how he got started in television, and how he ultimately landed the dream job of many comedians. Moreover, this book also explains what else he dedicated his life to, which is pretty surprising.

The book may not have included everything I was expecting for about the life of Stephen, but for me this book was great. This book is quite short, but overall, it is very inspiring.

There were many things I really liked a lot of this book, the whole book is very entertaining, the use of comedy has been very well used and when i finished reading and I have a completely different perspective to Mr. Colbert.
The talent and effort of this man has been perfectly captured in this book and I loved it!

As one of ten children myself who recently got to sit in on a taping of the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, I was looking forward to knowing more about the experiences and influences that influenced the shaping of the brilliant Colbert. Instead, I got a piece of junk that had no depth, continuity, or value beyond the superficial. The so-called "book" was so poorly written and edited that I am shocked that anyone would have the courage to publish it. Pure GARBAGE!

Interesting book. Travel agents won't always tell you everything you need to know. They are out to help you, but they have to make a profit too. When not certain in advance if the dates will be what you want, be sure to know cancellation fees of airfare and hotels. When you plan months in advance you can often take advantage of airlines promotions to discounted tickets. Author points out that if you are open to other accommodations than hotels, you can consider: motels, hostels, bed & breakfast places, guest houses and for the brave of heart - couch surfing where one finds people online that will let you sleep on their couch for a few nights for free! The author reminds us that off season rates are cheaper. How about traveling with a friend who will split the costs with you. For added value find hotels that serve free breakfasts and offer free shuttle service to and from the airport. Walk and ride public transportation.

Great for newbies

If you are serious about travelling, you must get this book. Just the tip about booking your tickets in advance is worth it's weight in gold. This book contains a lot of other little tips and if you are beginner traveler or someone just getting into the joys of traveling on a regular basis (Kind of like me), definitely get this book. I'm not sure if it's something the experts would like but for a wannabee globe trotter such as my self, I really enjoyed the little tips and tricks mentioned in this book. I give this ebook two thumbs up or 5 stars in this case.

This is a great series of Pre-Code ebooks that discuss various Pre-Code films, their Stars and provide good background information. This is the third title in Series I. Divorcee is discussed as well as Clark Gable and Joan Blondell
