Excellent coloring book! Well put together and easy to color with some details but not so many details you are there forever. Wide variety of subjects to color from Unicorns to Fairies to Elves and Gnomes, etc... Having a lot of fun connecting with the Fairy Realms for healing and inspiration now! Only thing that would make it better would be to have perforated pages because I dislike coloring in a book and having each color page on it's own page -- I sometimes use markers and they all bleed through to the second picture on the back. I scanned them all in so I can color them as much as I want though so no issues that are unable to be solved! Thank you!

I am a Minecraft die-hard because of my son.

Okay, I will admit now, I am a Minecraft die-hard because of my son. He influenced me more than I have influenced him. Together we search for books that can help us. This one is another addition to our collection. And what is even better is that we did not only learn how to make a Redstone but we also learned about making potions because of the bonus book. Plus some more techniques, also from the bonus books. This is a practical purchase and something to learn from too!

It definitely should be a first book of your young kid. I suppose that in our decade many children prefer computer games. So the author of this book used it. May be it is the right chose, to write books about popular stuff. Also this book is really good guide for the game, with interesting tips and tricks about potions and crafts in the game.

About the Author
Matt McKinney is a Millennial, a middle-child, and a graduate of Duke University. He studied linguistics, Arabic, German, and film, and currently uses none of those skills. He has held jobs in the TV industry, technology, sales, marketing, and freelance whatever-ing. You name it and Matt has probably tried it. He’s probably also realized he hates doing it. So now he tries to write full-time and make a meager living off it. He loves his younger brother and uses his blog, Boy With Cape, to constantly write him with all the (embarrassing) advice that he wished an older brother had told him. He loves his older sister too, by the way, even if he doesn’t write her often. He hopes to find laughter in all aspects of his life and, more importantly, he looks forward to sharing this (often self-deprecating) humor with you.

Letters To My Little Brother is a fantastic read! Matt does a wonderful job of sharing his tribulations and triumphs in a bold, exciting, honest, and comical way! While some of his stories are egocentric, there's always a lesson to be learned, a pseudo-light at the end of the tunnel. There truly is something for everyone in this book! It truly provides wonderful insight into the minds of millennials trying to figure out their place in the world; and in doing so, reminds us all that we all have a story and even if it involves recounting some embarrassingly awkward moments, that we should find the joy and laughter in life. That laughter is meant to be shared with the world because you never know how it may change someone's life for the better!

Smart, crass, and controversial - a millennial work at its core

I was laughing within five minutes of opening this book. It's a great read, particularly for 20-somethings who enjoy Jenny Lawson's brand of humor (with a dash of Tucker Max).

I loved the diatribes on online dating, the heartfelt moments of honesty, and the nerdy pop culture references. So why four stars? The letter about alcohol fell a bit short for me. I don't agree with the author's point of view, but I also don't wholly understand the reasons behind his vehement take. It felt like the tip of the iceberg, and I want to know the rest of the story. I want to email him and banter about it. I just... want more letters and more stories behind why the authors feels the way he does. I suppose being intrigued by an author is a good thing, though!

This is a witty, self-deprecating, funny, angry and ultimately honest depiction of life as a 20-something. The author's writing style and pop culture references make for an enjoyable read. Each letter has a thoughtful message between the lines. NOTE: this is an R-rated book, not for any little brother under the age of 18. My only problem? Too many f-bombs (which I have been told it is how young people talk these days).

This is more than a collection of memoirs. This book is a great read and also inspires you to follow your passion.

The story is unique, but not unfamilure. Keith takes us on a journey that shows us how to follow our inner journey. Opportunities come to everyone, and Keith talks to us about how he followed his passion for art and had it lead to more than just a career.

The stories, artwork and message are well worth the read.

Wow! I Love reading stories of success. This is by far my Favorite to date. Think you had a screwed up childhood, "Now I realize that picking out music to accompany your mom when she takes off her clothes in front of strangers is kind of weird..." This guys story reads like what not to do with your kids. Still Bang Bang shows life is what you make of it, he takes all his "early lessons" and turn them into fuel for his fire. This kid Worked Hard for what he has. People wonder what is the magic answer to success over and over story after story show intense Focus and Desire coupled with Hard work=Success. From Micheal Jordan to Steve Jobs to Bang Bang, yes he fits in with these Top performers, Vogue magazine called Bang Bang the Most Famous Tattoo artist in the world at only 29 years old. From small town boy to tattooing and hanging with Rhianna, Katy Perry, Cara Delevingne, Justine Bieber, and Adele...This is a Must Read for anyone but especially for those young kids out there who need some inspiration! Introspective, funny, and insightful. An easy read filled with one-of-a-kind stories and immaculate photos of art.

Though the autobiographical portions of the book are fun to read, the author truly shines when he delves into the craft of tattooing. He tells the technical, mental, and physical elements that go into creating a great tattoo.

As someone who admittedly knows little about tattoos, I never felt lost or overwhelmed by the new knowledge.

David Ritz is a Grammy Award winner and the only four-time winner of the Gleason Music Book Award. Book Explains Aretha And Why She's The Way She Is

This book may very well be the definitive biography of Aretha Franklin, an iconic artist who guards her privacy ferociously. I'm sure that she doesn't like it. It lays bare her life and many of the details that she keeps close to her chest. I'm sure she'd prefer that we concentrate on her legendary accomplishments. Her music is the soundtrack of our lives, but just who is Aretha Franklin? The book asks this question and the answers are complicated. Miss Franklin (or the Queen, if you insist--and she, reportedly, does) has lived many lives and been many people: motherless child, favorite daughter, child prodigy, teen mother, battered wife, competitive sister. If this book is to be believed, she is also the most difficult diva this side of Diana Ross. She's loving, while also seemingly incapable of love. She (allegedly) picks up people and drops them the minute they say or do something she doesn't like, no matter how minute, only to pick them up again. She jealously guards her title of Queen of Soul and has feuded with every female singer to come down the pipe in her lifetime, from Mahalia to Mariah to Mary J. I walked away from this book with the impression that Aretha Franklin is a jealous, petty, insecure, insensitive, spoiled, angry woman who has overcome and gone through an awful lot. No wonder she refuses to face reality and would rather live in a fractured fantasy world. She's conquered the world with her music, but Aretha hasn't been so successful when it comes to overcoming her food addiction and fear of heights (flying, in particular). She also can't find Mr. Right. In short, I strongly recommend "Respect," a warts and all account of the very difficult and often sad life of America's premier music diva.

The Definitive biography of 'Aretha Franklin'!

This book is the definitive biography of Aretha Franklin. This book is well written, very well researched, and a must read if you are one of millions that enjoy 'Sista Ree's' music. He knows his subject first hand, and he quotes her sisters, brother, former employees for an in depth, revealing portrait of a woman who hates to be exposed. She is competitive, petty, hates her female contemporaries, and doggedly holds on to the crown of 'Queen of Soul'! We also learn the fathers of her sons, she was a Mother at 13 and 15 yrs old respectively. This book holds nothing back! A perfect 10! Read the book and you tell me. :)

Aretha Should Read It

I've heard the stories for years about how difficult Aretha Franklin is known to be -- to fellow performers, making audiences swelter at her shows due to her disdain for air conditioning -- and while I've enjoyed her Atlantic years recordings, her purported attitude always kept me from actually liking HER as a person. Not to mention that about 7 years ago I had the displeasure of encountering The Queen and these old men acting as her footsoldiers at Colony Records in NY when one of her peons tried to tell me where to stand. I had no idea why this old man was in my face and was about to curse him out until I realized that I was getting dangerously close to The Queen as I tried to make my way to the cash register. Who knew? And I was annoyed; if she didn't want to be noticed, then she shouldn't have had on that ridiculous black mink coat in April in NYC. But I digress...

David Ritz has done her a major solid by finally making SENSE of who she is and why she is the way she clearly is. That is the function of a great biographer; to make a reader empathize with the subject, even one we may have had previous unfavorable impressions of. That was brilliantly done here. Now my heart in fact goes out to Aretha Franklin, and understanding the nature of her idiosyncrasies really helps one be able to see past them to take in the full breadth of who she is and what she represents. As an added plus, this was the first book I've read entirely on a Kindle fire, and having Aretha's "Queen of Soul" box set playing on my headphones while reading it was a beautifully immersive experience. I can't wait to experience more music biographies this way.

I understand that Miss Franklin has released statements to the press calling this book a pack of defamatory lies, threatening legal action, etc. I hope she abandons that defensive posture and actually reads this book, and faces what truth lies within. (I acknowledge that there are probably some inaccuracies and one-sided stories, but the majority seems to ring true.) She clearly has issues with denial imperious coldness. Perhaps reading the truth will set her free.

A very enjoyable read. And R-E-S-P-E-C-T to Aretha Franklin.

A Bold Life

HOLD FAST, the new autobiography from actor, voice artist and action director Mark Ryan, delivers what it promises: a very personal insight into the life and many roads this multi-talented man has taken in his decades-spanning career. He has combined his acting career with his work for the British Army's Intelligence Corps, so the story told intertwines anecdotes from London's West End and Hollywood with exciting stories from darker worlds. Who knew the entertainment industry has so many close points of contact with the military world and its inherently silent branch of espionage?

The book opens with a great introduction from actor Ray Winstone, which is in itself (almost) worth reading the book for. Anyone who has had the pleasure to sit down with Mr Ryan and listen to his life stories will find this book greatly entertaining. It touches on very personal subjects, on the people he shared parts of his lifepath with, his road to London's West End and Evita, the relationships with his fellow actors (among them Robin of Sherwood's Michael Praed, with whom he experienced a somewhat strained relationship during a later project in which they both participated), on his Robin of Sherwood days and on his subsequent move to the US. Ryan talks about the filming of First Knight and Bob Anderson the exceptional swordmaster, as well as of King Arthur and the great promise actress Keira Knightley already showed during shooting that movie. Talking about close contact points, Ryan's work in Ireland for King Arthur brought him unexpectedly close to Republican sympathisers (not the best place to be for a British soldier!).

Those who love background stories on famous actors won't be disappointed. Yet, all chapters in the book have a slight undertone of warning, maybe to remind the reader that underneath of all that glitter of Hollywood, there is a world that is the perfect negative image of the business' glamour. Ryan's work as a Licensed Private Investigator and his work in the recovery business (protecting recovering drug addicts from relapsing) provide for some very harrowing tales, recounting acts of unspeakable evil. The book offers insight in those interconnected worlds, and it provides a thorough education too! I know very little of modern weaponry, yet after reading Hold Fast I do know exactly which gun to use in a particular life-threatening situation!

Of course, Ryan also elaborates on his time in South Africa filming Black Sails, in which he played Mr Gates, for on a variation on a saying by Mark Twain, he lived and was good and God permitted him to be a pirate. Working on Black Sails was an amazing experience for him, even after a lifetime in the business (one does wonder, how much action and endeavour can a person pack into one lifetime?). The book's title Hold Fast derives from the pirate world, as pirates would tattoo the letters on their fingers, reminding them to hold fast to ropes and ship, or to inevitably drown.

Possibly the best part of the book, and the Transformer fans will absolutely love this, is Ryan's account of his collaboration with famous director Michael Bay on the four films of the franchise. It turns out that voicing Bumblebee, Jetfire and Lockdown involves a lot of running!

To conclude this review, I have to say I very much enjoyed the little quotes the book offers on how Ryan has approached his own rollercoaster type of a life, always emphasising boldness in making one's choices as well as trusting the Universe in opening paths for us when others seem irreversibly overgrown. I propose there should be a Hold Fast part 2, in which we see even more of Ryan's remarkable visions on life. But for now, let's focus on the Hold Fast before us, a perfect holiday read.

Clarifcation...

To clarify a points, my details were taken from a CV from a networking website without my knowledge or permission and I am confused as to why my details including work and military history have been included in the book but he has chosen to omit details of his other children who he won visitation rights for. I would have preferred to have been given the anonymity he has given to others. To confirm I did NOT join the British forces because of any military career the author claims to have had. I joined a regular infantry unit for my own reasons. I did the training, did the courses and cultivated my own mates. I did and do not need nepotism. I am also happy that there were no hidden people 'looking out' for me. Anyone who has been in the forces in active service will know the challenges faced and it's the mates you are shoulder to shoulder with who pull you through. I also did NOT get into my current career because the author. It was an opportunity that came via a mate, however as my work colleagues will confirm, it's been my hard work and dedication for many years which has got me to where I am. Unfortunately for the author there was NO 'apple falling from any tree'. After learning about my birth, I did seek out the author and since then I have been to places including L.A. & N.Y. There were people I met and I did write/say things in attempt to cultivate some sort of relationship. However, I have not seen the author for many years. Unlike the author, I embrace and enjoy the responsibility of being a father and a husband wholeheartedly. I needed no explanation. Don't believe all you read.
