Fernando Monteiro is a frontend engineer, speaker, open source contributor, and the mind behind the Responsive Boilerplate―a CSS library built with Less.js for responsive layouts. He contributes several articles and materials on design, development, and user experience on his blog and for the entire web community. He is passionate about web standards, frontend development, JavaScript, and mobile design, and he spent the last 13 years creating high-end graphic and web experiences. He has also authored two books, namely, Instant HTML5 Responsive Table Design How-to and Learning Single-page Web Application Development, both by Packt Publishing. Loved it

Perfect resource for a very specific purpose. Directives were a difficult topic to wrap my brain around and this book definitely help unwrap it. Good reference in the form of recipes. Though they may not meet your specific need, you can easily modify most of them to fit your application.

AngularJS is a wide spread, and sometimes it's really nice to not re-invent the wheel. The primary reason I have this book is because of that, why waste time when you have a really great resource. The recipes on the directives work well and are easy to follow along with, testing with Karma and Jasmine was very useful as I had no clue of their existence. I recommend this book if you're using AngularJS.

AngularJS is one of the most used javascript code libraries today. The author does a great job of presenting more than 30 plus recipes for the javascript programmer who wants to extend the capabilities of Angular.

I throughly enjoyed learning about the tab and grid directives.

About the Author
Dr. Dornan was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He graduated from Concordia University with an undergraduate degree in psychology. From there, he spent five years in St. John's Newfoundland, Canada, where he completed a master's of science and a PhD in experimental psychology, with a focus on neuroscience. In 1986, Dr. Dornan moved to Los Angeles, California, where he graduated with a postdoctoral degree in reproductive neuroendocrinology from the Department of Anatomy at the UCLA School of Medicine. In 1989, he accepted a position as assistant professor of psychology at Illinois Wesleyan University to develop a neuroscience program. While at Illinois Wesleyan University, he cofounded the Central Illinois Neuroscience Foundation, which is a nonprofit foundation promoting neuro–health care in Central Illinois. From there, Dr. Dornan spent a decade in Tennessee at Middle Tennessee State University as a professor and chair of the aerospace department. In 2012, Dr. Dornan accepted a position as dean of the College of Aviation and Public Services at Utah Valley University. In 2015, Dr. Dornan retired and moved back to Tennessee. During his academic career, Dr. Dornan was a leading researcher on Alzheimer's disease and stroke. He has over fifty scientific research publications and has been awarded numerous research grants, including one at over one million dollars from the National Science Foundation. Dr. Dornan has been on the editorial board of over twelve scientific journals and was an associate editor and eventually editor of a prestigious scientific journal. We provided this information on Dr. Dornan's extensive academic background because as you will soon read, this background had a significant impact on how he dealt with the diagnosis and how he decided from the beginning to fight, which we believe led to the subsequent success after treatment for his breast cancer.

An outstanding book about fighting breast cancer !

As an individual that has reached my senior years, I have on more than one occasion been involved with friends and family that have had cancer, so this book not only allowed me to better understand what people with cancer experience, but it brought to the forefront something that many people with a diagnosis overlook - and that is - to be informed.

Yes it is about a personal journey about a scary diagnosis, but most notably it shows that anyone that is diagnosed with breast cancer has options that as specified in this book can lead them towards choosing what treatment is best suited for their specific disease.

When it comes to cancer most writers can express what they believe and what they have studied so they can make recommendations about treatments for the disease. However in this case, the author not only shares his studies, but also his personal experience fighting breast cancer. And by his writing style and the story he develops, it is evident that it is his desire and his strong belief that this work will truly help those with not only breast cancer but any cancer - and that is what makes this personal story unique and most certainly makes it an outstanding read for those with cancer or with friends and family with cancer.

Darlene Ortiz is widely known as the first cover girl of rap. Her poses for such seminal Ice T albums as Rhyme Pays and Power made her a Hip Hop icon. She also starred in multiple music videos and modeled in dozens of magazines. She co-hosts a radio show with comedian Corey Holcomb that boasts thousand of listeners. Ortiz is a fitness instructor, songwriter and can claim acting on her resume, starring in a scene with Denzel Washington in the film Ricochet. Heidi Siegmund Cuda is an Emmy Award winning producer and the author of The Ice Opinion with Ice T, the first book of rap. She also wrote Got Your Back with Tupac’s bodyguard Frank Alexander; Sublime’s Brad Nowell: Crazy Fool (Portrait of a Punk); and Warped Book: Tales of Freedom and Psychotic Ambition, about the Vans Warped Tour. Cuda is a former investigative producer for Fox 11 News and former music critic and columnist for the Los Angeles Times. She now writes screenplays.

Book was ok. It doesn't really tell many compelling stories and Ms. Ortiz does not seem to want to reveal a lot of specific details. Overall, I wouldn't recommend unless you were really a fan of Ms. Ortiz.

Darlene's Kindness and Elegance

What i liked the most about the book is the Kindness and Class of Darlene. She had some hard time, yet through all her ordeal she maintained a noble attitude, never felt any resentment or bitterness against the man who basically turned his back on her and for no reasons. A Star like 'Ice T" most other women would sue him or take him to the cleaner. Darlene is elegance and class
The book was very well written. It was easy to read, understand, and felt like a conversation between 2 friends. The kindness that reflected did touch my heart. The book size and soft cover was light and easy to carry. I liked very much the large print; i could read without my glasses.

Heidi Cuda integrated all the characters in a smooth and kept the reader engaged at all times.

It was fascinating reading the story of a Star and how he got there.

Born and raised in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, I grew up with a deep-seated love for all things family, sports, planning, parties, and writing. Getting married has been the best decision I’ve made in my life. The honest truth is that hanging out with your best friend day in and day out is a marvelously adventurous and joyous way to live life. I wouldn’t have it any other way. My husband, Ryan, and I own a Chicago-based wedding planning business, Toopes Events. And, we thoroughly enjoy each journey we’re lucky enough to embark on with our clients as we help them plan a wedding celebration that is uniquely them. I must say that I owe Ryan (he’ll probably say I owe him a puppy) for his unwavering love and patience as I worked through getting my advice on paper in the hopes to make life just a little bit easier for future brides and grooms. Whether he gets that puppy or not, I’m truly grateful to have him as my rock.

I highly recommend this book! The book provides many money saving ideas that will help you stay within your budget as you plan your special day. I really liked the example Budget Worksheets that were included. It is also filled with practical advice on planning for the reception. I especially like all the pointers covered when selecting vendors! This is a great gift idea for everyone that is planning a wedding!

Fun book with tons of practical advice about planning your wedding!

As a newly engaged bride-to-be I found this book to be a quick, entertaining read with great advice. Sometimes we need to take a step back and breathe with all the choices available with wedding planning. This book reminds you to do so in a light, sassy, fun way.

Here are some of the book topics that were the biggest help to me:

-Getting organized

-Planning a budget and sticking to that budget

-Time management and delegating

-How to tactfully deal with people involved in your wedding

-A lot more practical advice that you won't want to overlook on your big day!

Fantastic practical advise. This book gives common sense advise and tips to help plan our perfect wedding. All of the important aspects of planning a wedding are covered here. Components of a wedding we assumed would just fall into place are carefully explained and my eyes were opened to the importance of detail of even the smallest things. Great quick read and we have been using this book as an outline for our special day.

About the Author
Tom Jones was born Thomas Jones Woodward in South Wales to a traditional coal-mining family. He began singing at an early age and landed is first record contract in 1964, winning a Grammy in 1965 for "It's Not Unusual." Knighted by Queen Elizabeth in 2006 for his services to music, his recordings have spanned the spectrum of musical styles over 60 years. He lives with his wife of 58 years, Melinda, in Wales and California. They have one son.

What a great story

First as someone who has been married to my childhood sweetheart for 44 years, I know what Tom means about she is what makes everything possible. You see the love they have for each other and the love of family in the book. The book is well written and it is like Tom is there talking to you. I couldn't put it down. The way the book starts out was genius. It made it a page turner. One thing it did make me do, I purchased his last two albums. Thanks for a great book!

A real treasure and a great read.

Very honest and enjoyable. Only Mr. jones could tell his life story. Gives us a good idea of what it was like in the early stages of rock and roll in England and the part he played in all of it. More than enjoyed it and recommend it highly. You will have fun with this one!

He has a great sense of humor and I shall never forget his ...

Waited 25 years for his book!! Have met him many times and he is always polite (and handsome). He has a great sense of humor and I shall never forget his yucky story in this book about Elvis! What a treat, a celebrity with a good childhood and strong family ties and still in the limelight. He will always be loved by millions of fans. It doesn't seem from the book (but he does have a right to his privacy) that he cares about much outside of the music business; hopefully he can slow down a bit and enjoy the life he's earned and the people who have stood by him for so long. And best of luck with the new album!

Ultimate guide? With only 22 pages? I don't think so.

Completely ignored inverters and waste water treatment, and only lightly skimmed over the other subjects that it tried to address. This book is probably useful to someone who has lived in a large city all their lives, and never been camping. For anyone else, it's a waste.
